The Atse Tewodros Project ensemble is a collective of Italian and traditional Ethiopian musicians born from an idea of the Italian-Ethiopian leader Gabriella Ghermandi. It is a unique project in that it is the only Italo-Ethiopian band in existence. In 2022 Atse Tewodros Project released its second recording project 'Maqeda', the Ethiopian name for the Queen of Sheba, is entirely dedicated to female figures from Ethiopian history and mythology, and proposes, through music, a reflection on the feminine and its figures, starting from Ethiopian culture, legitimised by tradition, epic and history, to the sharing of power with male figures.
