The Heartland has been challenging the boundaries of traditional forms of metal and hardcore to achieve a unique sound that is all their own. To achieve this sound, the Heartland borrows influences from Indie, Jazz, and Ambient music. The band has completed five U.S. tours, with another planned for April through July. In essence, the Heartland hopes to bring back a sense of urgency and heart to a scene that is currently lacking.
